Gutter Topper® Gutter Guards Take on Mother Nature - and Win!
Tornado winds of 130-140 MPH are no match for Gutter Topper®
On October 18, 2007, homeowners in Williamston, Michigan learned that Mother Nature
was no match for Gutter Topper® when a tornado struck the town located east of Lansing.
Homes in the path of the tornado experienced extensive damage from the swirling
winds, which were recorded in excess of 130 mph. But, as you can see by the photos
on this page, Gutter Topper’s® gutter guards held securely in place, even under
such extreme conditions.
Gutter Topper’s® authorized dealer in the greater Lansing area, Sunrise Seamless, took the photos in the days
following the tornado’s fury. Even though the homes were in the direct path of the
twister, they found that their Gutter Topper® installations survived with no damage.
Such was not the case however, for competing gutter guards. As you can see by these
photos, they were “Gone With The Wind” – and some of the homes weren’t even in the
direct path of the tornado’s worst winds.
“Obviously, we were saddened to see the death and destruction caused by this tornado.
The only good thing about all of this was that our product minimized the damage for
our customers' homes. Gutter Topper® passed severe independent testing and has earned
the Good Housekeeping Seal. Now It looks like Mother Nature has put her seal of approval
on Gutter Topper® as well, which should bring peace of mind to our customers,” said
Tony Iannelli, inventor of Gutter Topper®.
PRI Construction Material Technologies, an independent testing firm for the roofing
and construction industries located in Miami-Dade County, tested Gutter Topper®
against the strictest standards in the United States. Passing in every tested category,
Gutter Topper® is certified to:
-
Stops leaves, twigs and debris.
-
Resist winds of up to 110 mph (the machine wouldn’t go any higher)
-
Handle downpours of up to 22" per hour (enough to float Noah’s Ark)
-
Withstand up to 1,200 lbs. of weight per sq. ft.
And, as proven by the tornado in Michigan, Gutter Topper® survived conditions that were even worse than the conditions in these independent tests.
So, when the weather gets rough, don’t worry. We certainly hope your home never has to withstand such severe weather conditions, but you can always count on Gutter Topper® gutter guards to be stronger than the forces of nature.
Doesn’t your home deserve the best? Gutter Topper® is “Tested to Be the Best”™ and backed by the Good Housekeeping seal.
